ALLENDALE, Mich. – Grace College's men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule on Friday afternoon against Grand Valley State.
The Lancers (12-1) battled throughout, but were unable to secure a point against the NCAA DII opponent. The loss was the first of the season for Grace and brought to end the Lancers' 18-game regular season winning streak.
Pablo Gregori narrowly missed on picking up the opening set of the contests at No. one singles losing 6-7 and 2-6. 
At No. three singles 
Benjamin Rahine also pushed his opponent to the limit in the opening set but came up just short at 5-7.
Manuel Marques and 
Cesar Garcia both closed their matches strong, but were unable to secure a set.
Grace dropped all three doubles matches 6-2.
The Lancers will now have three weeks off before traveling to Lima, Ohio for a pair of matches as a part of the UNOH Invitational.
