WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team lost a pair of matches against stiff opponents as they continued their spring season.

Grace traveled to Notre Dame's indoor courts to take on No. 14 Holy Cross. The Lancers fell 6-1 to the highly ranked Saints.

Jimena Ramirez earned Grace's sole point at No. 1 singles, beating her opponent in straight sets (6-3, 6-0). Ramirez was also tied 4-4 at No. 1 doubles with Alejandra Sandoval before the match was ended after the team doubles' point was clinched by HC.

Natalie Schoenherr put up a fierce battle at No. 4 singles, rallying to force a tiebreaking set where she narrowly fell 10-7.

On Friday, Grace played at NCAA Div. II Purdue Northwest. The Lancers lost 5-2 on the road.

Ramirez again starred, winning both of her matchups. She teamed up with Sandoval to win 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. Unfortunately, the Pride won the final two doubles' courts to win the opening point.

Ramirez and Sandoval both picked up points in singles' play, however, with each match going to a third set. 

Ramirez battled from behind to win 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 at the top singles' court.

Sandoval produced an impressive 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 victory at No. 2 singles.

Next up, the Lancers will travel to Florida over spring break. Grace will center around Orlando, Fla., from March 11-14, taking on four nonconference opponents.
