MARION, Ind. - The 2025 NAIA National Championships for Grace's track and field team officially opened on Wednesday.
The Lancers competed in four events on opening day.
Kylie Sauder successfully navigated her preliminary race in the 800-meter race. She finished third in her heat, qualifying automatically for the finals with a time of 4:38.06. Sauder's 800 finals are set for Friday afternoon.
The women's 4x800 relay team (Addison Grady, Cadence Manning, Morgan Welch, Sauder) finished 15th in the country with a time of 9:31.96. The men's 4x800 unit of Caleb Nichols, Carter Clear, Ty McPhatter and Brady Hunsberger finished 21st overall in 7:55.82.
Brandon Kleber wrapped up the night with a gritty run in the 10,000. He entered the day seeded 18th, but Kleber concluded his impressive Lancer career with a 10th-place finish in the race at 30:58.34.
The Lancers have a quiet day on Thursday with two runners competing. Sauder will run in the 800 prelims at 2:30 p.m. while Cole Johnston will take on the 5,000 at 7:35 p.m.
