FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Grace's women's soccer team continued its torrid start to the year on Wednesday.
The Lancers (3-0) stayed perfect on the season with a convincing 4-0 win at Indiana Tech.
Grace, who boasts the highest-scoring offense in the NAIA, is outshooting opponents 20-0 on the season through three matches.
Freshman Nora Pollock collected a hat trick of assists during the win, and Cassidy Felger netted two goals.
Grace immediately began threatening the Warriors' goal after the kickoff. Grace had two shots on goal in the first 5:09 and four shots total over the opening 10 minutes.
The Lancers' early attack eventually produced a pair of goals in a three-minute span.
In the 16th minute, Grace threw the ball into Rylee Burns, who immediately touched a pass to Nora Pollock. Pollock sped into the box and squared a pass into the the middle, and Cassidy Felger slotted in Grace's opening goal.
The same trio was involved in Grace's second goal, touching the ball in the same order. Burns burned past a defender on the left edge of the field. She then led Pollock with a pass near the endline. Pollock pulled back her pass toward a charging Felger, who chopped a left-footed effort past a defender and the goalkeeper for her second goal of the half.
The Lancers found their third goal in the 36th minute. Rosalie Gefrorer was fouled in the box, and Audrey Abel converted the penalty kick to make the score 3-0.
In the first half, the Lancers outshot the Warriors 12-1; eight of Grace's shots were on target. Grace also had the only four corner kicks during the half.
In the second half, the Lancers needed just over two minutes to score again. Abby Hodkin found space for a cross on the right edge of the box. Her pass connected with Pollock who laid off a pass to a wide-open Burns in front of the goal. Burns took care of the rest with a simple tap-in finish.
Grace continued to dominate the match, keeping the ball in the Warriors' half of the field throughout the half. Indiana Tech managed one more shot attempt in the second half but rarely had prolonged time in possession.
With 32 minutes left in the match, Zoe Mueller tried a shot after a corner kick that glanced off the crossbar.
Overall, Grace shot eight more times after halftime and finished the match with a 20-2 advantage in attempts. Corner kicks were also solidly in Grace's favor, 10-0.
Ivy Cline made one save for the shutout. Jaylin Young, Zoe Mueller, Heidi Kever and Hannah Medlin were a stout defensive line for Cline.
The Lancers will travel west to end the week with a marquee match at No. 4 Columbia (Mo.) on Saturday.
