Grace Athletics ties GPA record

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace College's athletic teams delivered thrilling wins and memorable moments throughout the 2024-25 school year.

But the Lancers also hit high marks again in the classroom. All of Grace's varsity teams exceeded their academic goals by achieving a team GPA of 3.00 or greater. It's the ninth consecutive year that every program will qualify for NAIA Scholar-Team status.

The Lancers tied the athletic department record with a stunning overall GPA of 3.49, equalling the mark from 2022-23.

Grace had eight teams post a GPA of 3.50 or better; the school was led by women's basketball under the leadership of Dan Davis with a GPA of 3.68.

Women's cross country and men's basketball tied for second among Grace's teams with 3.67; women's golf (3.65) and women's track and field (3.63) also topped 3.60.

"The academic excellence that our athletic programs achieve can be credited to the commitment and dedication of our coaches and student-athletes," said Grace's Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. "Our programs strive for Christian excellence in all areas, which includes both the academic and athletic realms. The Scholar-Team distinction for our programs is a tremendous reflection on Grace College. Our faculty play an integral role in the academic and spiritual growth of our student-athletes, and we are incredibly thankful for their work."
