WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has named Chad Briscoe, Director of Athletics at Grace College, as the 2024-25 NAIA Athletic Director of the Year.
This prestigious honor recognizes Briscoe's outstanding leadership, vision and dedication to student-athlete success both on and off the field.
Briscoe, who has served as the Lancers' A.D. for 17 years, was selected for his exceptional contributions directing the Lancers. Under his leadership, Grace has experienced significant athletic success, institutional growth and national recognition across multiple programs.
"It is an incredible honor to be recognized in this way," said Briscoe. "This award is a reflection of the tireless efforts of our coaches, student-athletes, and the entire Grace College community. I am deeply grateful to serve at an institution that prioritizes servant leadership, character, excellence and Christ-centered athletics."
During his tenure, Briscoe has overseen the expansion of Grace's athletic programs, including the addition of new sports, facility constructions and a strong emphasis on Champions of Character initiatives.
Grace's athletic teams have consistently competed at the highest levels within the NAIA, including consistent national tournament appearances and academic accolades. He led Grace to its highest finish ever in the NAIA LEARFIELD Directors' Cup. Every Lancer team has reached NAIA Scholar-Team status for nine consecutive years, including a department record 3.49 GPA in 2024-25.
"Chad is a leader of upright character and unrivaled passion to change the lives of our student-athletes," said Grace President Dr. Drew Flamm. "He has enhanced the reputation of Grace because of his tireless pursuit of excellence and integrity. He serves as a phenomenal representation of Grace College, the Crossroads League and the NAIA."
Briscoe is a five-time winner of the Crossroads League A.D. of the Year honor, including in 2025. He has helped multiple teams secure First and Second Round host bids to the NAIA National Championships.
"I am blessed to call Chad Briscoe a friend, mentor and truly one of the finest human beings I have ever met. He is a light in this world, and there is nobody more deserving of this national recognition than Chad," said Athletic Director of St. Francis, Mike McCaffrey.
In addition to his role at Grace, Briscoe is an active voice in NAIA governance, having served on various national committees and oversight roles. He recently completed a three-year term as the President of the NAIA's National Administrative Council. He was presented with an Award of Merit from the NAIA for his service to the organization. Briscoe has also served for multiple years on the NAIA's Men's Basketball Selection Committee.
Briscoe will be formally honored at the 2025 NAIA National Convention in April.
