WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Grace's athletic programs enjoyed another stellar year in the classroom during 2025-26.
For the 10th straight year, all of Grace's teams reached their academic goal by posting average team GPAs of 3.00 or greater. For a full decade, all of Grace's varsity programs will qualify for the NAIA Scholar-Team award.
The department recorded an overall GPA of 3.48. The average is the third-highest department GPA in school history (3.49 - 2022-23, 2024-25; 3.47 - 2020-21; 3.45 - 2019-20).
Overall, nine teams recorded a GPA of 3.50 or higher, led by women's basketball at 3.77. The women's basketball program under head coach Dan Davis has led Grace's department for two years in a row. They recorded the No. 5 highest ranking among all women's basketball teams according to WBCA.
Women's golf under Denny Duncan was second in line with a GPA of 3.73. They were followed by men's tennis (3.63), men's basketball (3.61) and women's cross country (3.60) to round out Grace's top-five GPAs.
"The academic excellence that our athletic programs achieve can be credited to the commitment and dedication of our coaches and student-athletes," said Grace's Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. "Our programs strive for Christian excellence in all areas, which includes both the academic and athletic realms. The Scholar-Team distinction for our programs is a tremendous reflection on Grace College. Our faculty play an integral role in the academic and spiritual growth of our student-athletes, and we are incredibly thankful for their work."
Grace's remaining Scholar-Teams include: women's soccer (3.59), women's tennis (3.59), women's track and field (3.57), men's golf (3.50), softball (3.48), volleyball (3.46), men's cross country (3.41), baseball (3.38), men's track and field (3.35), men's soccer (3.33), women's bowling (3.14) and men's bowling (3.03).
