MARION, Ind. - Grace's men's and women's tennis teams tackled the 2025 ITA Midwest Region Championships this week.

The Lancers battled with the best in the region across singles and doubles play.

The men were led by Benjamin Rahine who marched to the quarterfinals of the main singles' draw before losing.

Rahine also teamed up with Mahefa Rakotomala for an impressive run in doubles. They won three straight matches to reach the doubles' semifinals, eventually losing 8-5 versus the No. 1 seed.

In the men's consolation bracket, Manuel Marques went the distance. After falling in the opening match of the singles' draw, Marques rattled off four straight wins. He won the championship of the consolation draw, beating his opponent 8-6 in the finale.

Unfortunately for Grace, Marques had to go through a Lancer during the consolation run. Stergios Papadopoulos reached the semifinals of the consolation before battling to an 8-4 loss to Marques in the semis.

On the women's side, Jimena Ramirez advanced to the quarterfinals of the women's singles' draw, winning her first two matches in the bracket. Faith Valentine also charged to the quarterfinals of the singles' bracket before losing to the overall No. 3 seed.

Ramirez also teamed up with Valentine for a deep run in the doubles' bracket. They won three straight matches, marching all the way to the semifinals before bowing out.

Landry Schrock, Lauren Harris and Molli Runestad all won their opening match in singles as well.
