Grace Bowlers tackle league tournaments

JACKSON, Mich. - Grace College's bowling teams enjoyed competition among Crossroads League foes.

The Lancers played in two more league tournaments as well as the Scotty Classic in Michigan.

 

CROSSROADS LEAGUE #3


Grace's women earned seventh place at Crossroads League #3. The Lancers racked up 4,492 total pins, including 2,459 in team games and 2,033 in baker play.

Kiley Penzien finished 12th in the field with 555 pins, an average score of 185 per game.

Madison Coquillard (170.3 average) also topped 500 pins with 511 overall, and Kit Sprunger was third on the squad with 489 pins.

The men were seventh out of eight. They produced 5,063 pins — 2,758 in team games and 2,305 in baker play.

Taiyden Klosinski led the squad with 636 pins. He placed 13th in the field for an average of 212 per game.

Nick Ransbottom had 610 pins for an average of 203 pins, and Zack Camp (175 average) and Corbin Payne (171) were next for Grace.

 

CROSSROADS LEAGUE #4


The women collected 2,526 pins during team games, the fifth-best mark in the conference. They produced 1,804 pins in baker play, ending with a seventh-place finish of 4,330 pins.

Kit Sprunger excelled in the tournament. She posted the fourth-best score in the field with 596 pins, averaging 198.7 pins per game.

Kylee Estes (511 pins) and Madison Coquillard (510) finished back-to-back for a pair of top-30 finishes. Olivia Seeburger was next in line with an average of 164.

The men knocked down 2,714 pins in team games and 1,979 pins in baker games. Their total of 4,693 pins placed seventh out of eight teams. 

The men topped 1,000 in their second team game (1,009), the sixth-highest tally among all team games.

Nick Ransbottom also earned a top-five finish for the men's squad. He racked up 635 pins (211.7 average), placing fifth in the field.

Zack Camp finished 15th overall, knocking down 597 pins for an average of 199 per game. He was followed by Logan Pitts (540 pins) and Alex Birong (500).

The Lancers will also compete at the Crossroads League No. 3 on Wednesday.

 

SCOTTY CLASSIC


Grace's teams both finished in the top half of the Scotty Classic. The women placed sixth out of 14 teams, producing 2,481 pins in team games and 1,957 in baker play, resulting in 4,438 total pins (821.9 average).

Kiley Penzien earned a top-10 showing. She posted an average score of 183.7 pins across her three games to finish eighth overall.

Baylie Goodlink and Kit Sprunger each averaged 170 pins to grab 24th place.

The men's squad earned eight place out of 20 teams. They amassed 4,903 total pins, including 2,817 in team games and 2,086 in baker competition. They averaged nearly 908 pins per game.

Logan Pitts was the team's top bowler; he topped a 200-pin average, posting 605 pins in his three games (201.7 average).

Nick Ransbottom (197 average) was 24th overall, and Corbin Payne was next in line with an average game of 192.7.
