WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Grace's women's tennis team took on two top-20 opponents this week.

The Lancers wrapped up its trip to Kentucky by playing No. 2 Lindsey Wilson and No. 13 Cumberlands; Grace fell to both highly ranked teams 7-0.

Lindsey Wilson was efficient in the victory on Tuesday.

Faith Valentine battled tough in her defeat at No. 2 singles, narrowly falling 6-4 in her first set.

Molli Runestad won five games across her match at No. 3 singles.

Against Cumberlands, Grace gave the Patriots as much as they could handle.

In doubles' play, Runestad and Lauren Harris took their match at No. 2 doubles to a tense tiebreak before narrowly losing 7-5.

Shannon Brumbaugh and Landry Shrock also lost closely (6-4) at No. 3 doubles, and Jimena Ramirez and Valentine fell 6-3 at No. 1.

Ramirez took her opponent at No. 1 singles to a tiebreak, which she lost 10-5.

Runestad was the next closest scoreline with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat at No. 3 singles.

The Lancers return home on Saturday for a 10 a.m. scheduled match against Judson.
