WARSAW, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team tangled with Huntington on Thursday.
The Lancers fell 4-2 in a match with two teams who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Grace gave the Foresters a fight at nearly every court.
In doubles, Jimena Ramirez and Faith Valentine produced a hard-fought 7-5 win at the top position.
Molli Runestad and Lauren Harris nearly came up with another win but fell just shy (6-4) at No. 2 doubles.
Ramirez grabbed a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and Valentine followed suit at No. 2 (6-1, 7-6). Harris was leading 6-1, 3-2 at No. 6 singles, but her match was ended after Huntington clinched the overall team win.
Grace will play at home three times next week. On Tuesday, Grace hosts No. 10 Marian (3 p.m.). On Thursday, Grace hosts St. Francis (2 p.m.). On Saturday, Grace will take on No. 23 Bethel (2 p.m.)
