WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace College's women's tennis team got back to its winning ways with an impressive 7-0 victory over St. Francis on Thursday afternoon.
With the win Grace moves to 3-3 in the Crossroads League and sits tied for fourth in the conference with three games left.
Grace was dominant throughout the contest winning each matchup in straight sets.
Molli Runestad and
Lauren Harris won No. 2 doubles 6-1 and the point was secured when
Landry Schrock and
Addison Swope won 6-2 from the No. 3 slot.
Jimena Ramirez and
Faith Valentine were up at No. 1 doubles 5-1.
The Lancers momentum carried over into singles play as Grace continued to enjoy uninterrupted success.
Harris was perfect from the No. 5 slot, winning both of her sets 6-0. Runestead had a hard fought battle in her first set, narrowly winning 6-4 before leaving no doubt in the second set with a decisive 6-0 win.
Ramirez defended her spot at the top of the card with a straight set victory of 6-2, 6-3. Valentine won in straight sets at No. 2.
Schrock took her match up in two sets with wins of 6-1 and 6-3, while Swope completed the Lancers perfect showing with a 6-3, 6-4 straight set-victory.
Grace will return to action on Saturday when they host No. 23 Bethel in a pivotal Crossroads league showdown.
