RICHMOND, Ind. - Grace's women's golf team opened up the fall campaign with a two-day tournament at the IU East Fall Invite on Friday and Saturday.
The Lancers sent out two groups to the course with both finishing in the top-5 of the 15-team field at Highland Lakes Golf Club. The Lancers "A" squad took home second place.
The team improved their score by 19 strokes between rounds, posting an opening round 322 followed by a 303 on the second day.
Camille Short led the way for Grace by carding a pair of consistent 74s over the two days. Her performance landed her in the tie for second place overall, three strokes off the leader. She collected three birdies and an eagle over 36 holes.
Kiley Standring posted the low round of the weekend for the Lancers with a 73 in her second round. She started off with a flurry of three birdies on the first four holes on day two. She bested her first round 86, placing her at T17Â on the leaderboard.
Trinity Bramer and Elyse Veldman paced Grace's "B" squad with identical marks of 158 to finish in joint 15th place. Standring, Olivia Stronczek and Abby Wright all had marks of 159.
Grace Beerman scored 162 while Ava Thomas was just a stroke behind at 163. Natalie Winter closed out the scoring for Grace with a mark of 172.
