Grace College Athletics

Jacob Bloom is set to begin his first season as an assistant coach with Grace College in 2015. 

Bloom is fresh off one of the finest offensive seasons in Lancer history. His list of career ranks upon graduating in 2014 is impressive:

• 2nd in career hits
• Tied-1st in career runs
• Tied-3rd in career doubles
• Tied-5th in career triples
• 5th in career walks
• Tied-7th in career batting average
• 9th in career RBIs

Bloom helped the Lancers qualify for the Crossroads League Tournament in 2014 for the first time in recent memory after batting .381 for the season. He led the team with 45 hits, 29 runs, 9 doubles and 3 home runs, earning All-League honors in the process. He also stole eight bases and did not record a fielding error in 41 games patrolling Grace's outfield to earn the CL's Gold Glove award for right field.

He batted .389 as a junior, .276 as a sophomore and .301 as a freshman for the Lancers, finishing with a career average of .331.

Bloom currently lives in Warsaw, Ind.
