Christi Walters is set to begin her fourth season as an assistant on Grace's women's soccer team. Walters has a passion to reach Grace’s student-athletes for the Lord through athletic training and to enable Grace’s student-athletes to compete at both a conference and national scale.
Walters is originally from Angola, Ind., where she was a three-sport athlete in high school (volleyball, basketball, softball). After high school, she attended Indiana Wesleyan University to continue her softball career while majoring in athletic training.
While at IWU, she was named the Outstanding Athletic Training Student of the Year. Athletically, she was a two-time All-Conference performer who was named NAIA All-Region as well as honorable mention for NAIA All-American. She was also an NCCAA All-American in both 2006 and 2007 and earned NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete status as a junior and senior.
Upon graduation, she continued her education at Ohio University, earning a Master’s degree in Athletic Training in 2010. She served as the Graduate Assistant for the Ohio University Athletic Training Program and was honored with OU’s Outstanding Graduate Student in Athletic Training Award.
Following Ohio University, Church went to Avon High School (Ind.) for one year of work as an athletic trainer at Avon for Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis.
