Madison Schermerhorn joins Grace’s coaching ranks as a graduate assistant for her first season in 2024.

Schermerhorn starred at Purdue University where she completed her career as one of the top back row players in Boilermaker history.

She was a two-time All-Big Ten Second Team honoree (2022, 2023). She led the Big Ten in digs per set in 2023.

Purdue made the NCAA tournament every year during Schermerhorn’s career. They earned a No. 3 seed in 2023, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen.

She finished her career with 1,461 career digs, ranking fifth all-time in team history. She also ranks No. 3 and No. 4 for digs per set in a single season, recording 4.62 in 2022 and 4.56 in 2023.

Schermerhorn earned numerous other awards as well, including honorable mention for AVCA All-Region, Academic All-Big Ten, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

After graduating, Schermerhorn was selected with the No. 31 pick in the inaugural draft of the Pro Volleyball Federation by the Vegas Thrill.
