OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – Grace's women's volleyball team split its two matches in the NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Lancers (23-15) swept Cincinnati Christian in the morning before falling in three hard-fought sets to the host Oakland City in the evening.
Grace's defense held Cincinnati Christian to a .037 hitting percentage as a team in the first match.
Grace held on for a 25-22 win in the first set and continued with the sweep with a 25-17 win in the second set and a 25-20 win in the third.
Dana Johnston led all players with 10 kills, and Alix Underwood tallied seven kills.
Annie Salazar recorded 19 digs and three service aces, and Arielle Walters added one solo block and four block assists.
The Lady Lancers' defense was not as stout in the second match of the day, however, as Oakland City recorded a team hitting percentage of .248.
Johnston did her best to keep Grace close with a match-high 11 kills and three block assists, and Walters recorded nine kills and two block assists.
Underwood finished with nine kills, Hannah Clemmons added eight kills and 12 digs, and Salazar tallied 21 digs and three aces.
