MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan handed Grace's women's tennis team its third loss to start the season as the Lady Lancers were defeated 9-0.
The Lady Lancers (0-3; 0-3 Crossroads League) were led in the loss by Kristin Cassidy, who won five sets for Grace in singles and doubles competition.
Sarah Hinkel and Esther Smith were the most competitive doubles match at No. 3 doubles as they fell 8-2.
In singles competition, Cassidy gave the Wildcats' No. 1 singles player all she could handle. Cassidy lost 6-3 in the first set before a 6-1 defeat in the second.
Nicole Beguin (No. 3 singles), Hinkel (No. 5) and Smith (No. 6) each won a set in singles play.
The Lady Lancers return to Miller Field on Tuesday for a match with Taylor University at 3 p.m.
