GOLDEN, Colo. - Grace's first official match of 2014 will wait one more day as Wednesday's opener was canceled due to lightning.
The Lancers played Colorado School of Mines to a scoreless draw in the first half when lightning halted play just before the second half resumed. After several delays, the match was officially canceled and ruled a "no contest."
Grace has less than 24 hours to wait to play again. The Lancers face off with NCAA Division II Colorado Christian on Thursday at 6 p.m. (

"While the Mines got the best chances in the first half, we also had good opportunities. It was a great game for us to get an idea of how to adjust and grow as a team. We can play more organized defensively which will help us in our transition to offense," said Grace head coach
Matt Hotchkin. "Our bodies are almost acclimated. It is a very real dilemma when going from 900 feet above sea level to 6,000 feet."
