COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Grace's men's soccer team suffered its first of the 2014 campaign, falling 3-1 to the NCAA Division II University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Saturday.

Grace surrendered all three goals before halftime, including the match's first goal at the 1:17 mark. The Lancers managed to take 10 shots overall in the match, including four in the first half and six in the second.

But only a second-half strike from senior Trent Smith pierced the home nets. Smith's goal was unassisted in the 77th minute.

Overall, 14 players saw the field for the Lancers in defeat.

The loss ends Grace's road trip to Colorado with a 1-1 record after the Lancers knocked of NCAA DII Colorado Christian on Thursday. The Lancers return to Miller Field for a four-game homestand. Grace will host two games next week – John Brown on Thursday 7 p.m. and Moody Bible on Saturday 1 p.m.
