Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women’s Basketball can’t slow Indiana Tech on the road

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Grace's defense couldn't find the answer for Indiana Tech on Wednesday night.

The Warriors hit 51 percent of their shots for the game en route to an 80-57 victory.

The Lady Lancers (2-3), on the other hand, struggled with their shooting touch by making 32 percent from the floor. Brooke Sugg was the lone Grace player in double figures with 10 points.

The tone for the contest was set in the opening four minutes. Grace managed two points over the first four minutes from Sarah Feasby; the Warriors (2-2) rattled off 13 points during that span and maintained their double-digit lead for the majority of the game.

Grace was held to 11 points in the first quarter and faced a 38-27 deficit at halftime. The Lady Lancers connected on 37 percent of their shots, 25 percent from the 3-point line and 50 percent from the free throw stripe. The Warriors, meanwhile, scored 20 of their 38 points in the paint.

The second half was the same story. Indiana Tech hit over half of its shots after halftime (16-of-30); Grace's aim regressed further, making just 9-of-33 (27 percent) over the final two quarters.

Grace hit a particularly dry spell for eight minutes at the end of the third and start of the fourth quarters. The Lady Lancers scored four points during that stretch.

Gabby Miller finished with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds, and Haley Richardson had nine points and six boards.

Maycee Davis and Sarah Feasby notched six points apiece, Jesse Feitz added five points and six rebounds, and Darian Patton tallied five points and three assists.

The Lady Lancers will try for their first road win on Friday with a trip to Calumet St. Joseph at 7 p.m.
