GOSHEN, Ind. – The final regular season match for Grace's men's tennis team ended in defeat on Tuesday at Goshen.
The Lancers (5-4, 5-3 Crossroads League) appear to have finished in fourth place in the league standings, with a few matches yet to be played for several league teams.
Danila Kurkulin and Ethan Grove grabbed the only point for Grace in doubles' play, winning 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. The Maple Leafs (9-1, 7-1 CL) went ahead 2-1 on the day by winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Kurkulin also found victory in singles' play, claiming a 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 1. Uros Pajic gained the other point for Grace with a 7-6, 6-1 scoreline at No. 2. But the remaining four courts went to Goshen.
The Lancers will await the conclusion of the league season before starting the First Round of the CL Tournament on Oct. 6.
