VERO BEACH, Fla. - Grace's baseball team leaves Florida on a four-game winning streak following a strong end to the week.
The Lancers (8-5) wrapped up their Spring Break trip with a 13-2 win over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday and a 24-5 win over Rochester on Sunday.
On Saturday, Grace used a first-inning onslaught to blitz Penn State Brandywine. The Lancers scored seven runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Grace scored two runs off wild pitches, another off a sacrifice fly and three more off RBI singles.
In the second inning, Frank Rocchio launched a two-run home run — his second of the year — over the left-field fence.
The Lions' pitching continued to struggle, allowing Grace to plate two more in the fourth inning off a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk.
Jakob Radjenovich was 3-for-4 from the leadoff position, and Scottie Clark was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Frank Rocchio scored once and drove in three more, and Jamar Bray and Cameron Maxwell each plated twice.
Xavier Harris earned the first pitching victory of his collegiate career, striking out five batters in five innings of work. Clark and Logan Swartzentruber also tossed scoreless stints in relief.
Against Rochester, the Lancers' bats exploded. Grace scored its most runs in a game in over a decade in a 24-5 rout.
The Lancers' chased off the ace for the Warriors (2-3), getting strong contribution across the lineup.
