SPRING ARBOR, Mich. — Grace women's soccer team continued league action playing on the road against No. 2 Spring Arbor, falling 3-0.
The Grace defense was pressured early and often as Spring Arbor got off to a fast start, tallying four shots in the opening minutes of the match.
The Cougars (15-1, 7-0 CL) were able to get on the scoresheet after three minutes as a shot was slotted beyond the outstretched arms of Grace goalkeeper Abby Schue.
Following the opening goal by the Cougars, the Lady Lancers (6-7-3, 3-4 CL) settled into the match. Grace began to move the ball around as Emma Neahusan put a shot on goal, forcing the goalkeeper to make a save.
Minutes later, however, Spring Arbor was able to net the second goal of the match with a shot from the right wing to take a commanding 2-0 lead at the 20-minute mark in the contest.
Sophomore Liz Van Wormer looked to add a spark for the Lady Lancers as she came off the bench to record three shots over the final 15 minutes of the first half.
After the break, the Cougars were able to put the game away as attacking pressure led to a third goal in the 56th minute.
