Grace pounds Lions 12-1

VERO BEACH, Fla. - An impressive offensive showcase lifted Grace to a 12-1 win over Penn State Fayette on Wednesday.

The Lancers got off to a fast start in the opening inning at historic Dodgertown. Xavier Harris belted a two-run home run, and Jamar Bray and Jason Stevens had two-out RBI singles as Grace went ahead 4-0.

Grace scored three more in the second inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead.

Logan Grigsby kept the Lions off the scoreboard, pitching four scoreless innings as the starter.

Three more runs came to plate in the sixth inning to make the score 10-0.

In the top of the seventh, Grace added two more runs including a two-out RBI from John McCarty.

The game ended 12-1 in Grace's favor. Derrick Grass pitched two scoreless innings of relief, and Brady Kinnersley ended the game on the mound by tossing the last inning.

On Tuesday, Grace dropped a heartbreaker 13-8 in extra innings to West Virginia Tech. Grace gave up two runs in the ninth inning while on the verge of victory, and West Virginia Tech secured the win in the 11th inning by plating five runs.

The Lancers and Tech were in a back-and-forth deadlock for much of Tuesday's game. Grace was poised to take a victory by scoring four runs in the eighth inning, pulling ahead 8-6 entering the final stanza. But Tech recovered to tie the game in the ninth and win the game in the 11th in a marathon.

The Lancers are back in action on Friday against Penn State New Kensington.
