WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team was unable to upset Crossroads League-leading Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday.
Despite the 9-0 scoreline, Grace gave the Wildcats (7-0, 6-0 CL) a battle at several positions.
The Lady Lancers (7-2, 4-2 CL) were strongest in doubles' competition. Emily Mast and Jenna Jackson fell 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, and Carrie Copeland and Molly Fitzpatrick were competitive in an 8-4 defeat at No. 2 doubles.
Jayna Armstrong almost pulled off a singles' victory but lost 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 singles. Fitzpatrick nearly forced a tiebreaker before losing 6-1, 7-6.
The Lady Lancers hit the road on Thursday, playing at Adrian College in Michigan.
