WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team found itself in an early hole against Huntington on Wednesday.

The Lady Lancers, playing singles first, lost the first set in four of the six singles' matchups. But after a series of comebacks, Grace wound up winning four of those matches en route to a 5-2 win.

The victory keeps the Lady Lancers (3-0, 3-0 Crossroads League) tied atop the league standings with Indiana Wesleyan.

Dayana Ortega and Jayna Armstrong were steady to provide wins for Grace. Ortega won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, and Armstrong claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 4.

The other two singles' wins came from the Mast sisters. Morgan Mast dropped the first set 3-6 at No. 5 singles, but she rallied to win the next two sets in tiebreakers with a scoreline of 7-6 (3), 7-6 (7).

Emily Mast also lost the opening set 3-6 at No. 1 singles, and the senior charged back with two straight victories (7-5, 6-1).

Armstrong teamed up with Carrie Copeland for a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles, and Morgan Mast and Gretchen Adams won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.

"I'm super proud of our girls and their energy tonight. Huntington is an excellent program and very well coached, and they've really had our number for the past few years," said Grace head coach Marcus Moore. "Morgan's resiliency showed because she worked so hard this summer. Dayana and Jayna took care of business, and Emily fought back to beat a tough opponent. Definitely a great team win."

The Lady Lancers remain at home tomorrow, welcoming Manchester at 4:30 p.m.
