MARION, Ind. - Grace's men's and women's tennis teams competed at the annual ITA Midwest Regional Championships, held at IWU.

On the women's side, Dayana Ortega won two matches as the No. 5 seed, reaching the quarterfinals before bowing out to No. 3 Golz (IWU).

Addy Jarvis and Jayna Armstrong both won one match in the singles' draw. Morgan Mast also competed and won a match in the consolation bracket.

All four of Grace's doubles' units won an opening round match before bowing out in the round of 16, including Kiersten Martin/Lauryn Riegsecker, Anna Graves/Ellie Hughes, Ortega/Armstrong, and Gretchen Adams/Rachel Bognar.

On the men's side, Max Rozas came close to defending his ITA regional singles' crown. Rozas, the No. 1 seed in the bracket, won three matches to reach the semifinals before falling to the eventual regional winner No. 3 Carrizo (IWU).

Fabricio Galvan and David Sandi each won two matches apiece to advance to the round of 16. Jacob Gray, Nicolas Graber, Mauricio Corty and Ramiro Candia each won one match apiece.

Ivan Antinori dropped his opening-round match. But the freshman rebounded nicely in the consolation bracket. Antinori won five straight matches between Thursday and Saturday to win the consolation bracket.

Antinori's opponent in the consolation championship was teammate Pavle Popovic; Popovic won four matches in the consolation bracket to create an all-Grace matchup in the finals.

In doubles' play, Popovic and Antinori teamed up again. The duo won two matches to reach the quarterfinals in the main bracket. Candia and Corty won their opening-round doubles' match as did Rozas and Galvan.

In the doubles' consolation bracket, Sandi and Graber won one match as did Kye Barrett and Gray.
