INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Grace men's tennis team dropped two contests against the 10th ranked team in NCAA II, the University of Indianapolis.

The newly minted NAIA 20th ranked Lancers remained competitive throughout both matches but fell to the Greyhounds 7-0 in both contests.

MATCH ONE

The Lancers (12-3, 7-1 Crossroads League) narrowly missed capturing the first point of the contest in doubles play. Mauricio Corty and Ramiro Canada took the No. 3 doubles slot 6-4.

The pairs of Fabricio Galvan / Max Rozas (3-6) along with Pavle Popovic / Facundo Paredes (4-6) fell just short in their respective match-ups.

The Grace men remained respectable in their individual contests but were unable to take a point from the Greyhounds (2-0). David Sandi and Paredes each forced a third set in their match-ups. 

Sandi took the first set in his match-up 6-4 but would ultimately fall in straight sets 6-2 and 10-3. After an opening set loss Paredes fought back to capture the second set 6-3, he would lose the deciding set 10-6.

MATCH TWO

Grace surrendered the first point of the match after falling short in all three double matches. The pair of Rozas and Margaria challenged from the No. 2 doubles slot but fell 6-4.

The pairs Popovic/Pardes and Candia/ Corty fell 6-1.

The Lancers couldn't capture a point in singles play despite challenging in several match-ups

Rozas and Pardes each battled back after dropping their initial set to force a third frame. Both would ultimately drop the deciding set.

Popovic came up just short in straight sets from the No. 5 singles slot losing 7-6, and 6-4. David Sandi and Fabricio Galvan both lost in straight sets.

The Lancers will return to the courts on February 12th when they take on IU East.
