Trio of Lancers earn All-League honors

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Three members of Grace's men's basketball team picked up recognition  from the Crossroads League.

Haden Deaton earned his third straight All-Crossroads League honor, repeating as a First Team honoree after earning the award as a junior. Deaton was honorable mention for All-League as a sophomore as well.

Jake Wadding and Cade Gibbs both earned a spot on the league's All-Freshmen Team, and Wadding was also Second Team All-League.

Deaton finished the year with a team-high 15.2 points per game to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. The rugged senior shot 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from the 3-point line.

Gibbs finished second on the squad with 14.7 points per game before his season was cut short due to injury. He snagged 6.4 rebounds per game and shot 51 percent from the floor.

Wadding has started in all 28 games so far for Grace. The freshman sank 60 percent of his shots overall while producing 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The Lancers (17-11) will play in the 2021 NCCAA National Championships, hosted by Grace. Grace may have a regional tournament next week, but the team has already secured a spot in the national championship field as the host school. The tournament begins March 17 with tickets on sale online now.
