MARION, Ind. - A chilly meet kicked off the outdoor season for Grace's track and field teams.
The Lancers' contingent competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational, a fitting name for the brisk outdoor debut.
Grace posted a handful of NCCAA qualifiers during the opening meet.
Korry Hamlin won the men's 1,500-meter race, breaking the tape in 4:07.44. Cole Johnston (4:15.16) was fourth in the race, and Luke Smith (4:17.88) and Dakota Ames (4:20.19) were not far off that pace.
Noah Zimmerman won the long jump with a leap of 21-feet-4.25 on his first attempt. Josh Pike was seventh in the event (19-7.5).
Emma Lingenfelter grabbed 10th place in the 800 at 2:35.82, and Carson Martin was 14th in the men's race at 2:07.29.
In the women's 1,500, Addison Grady placed 10th (5:09.42) to lead a large contingent of Lady Lancers in the race. Mallory Hiatt (5:12.89) and Morgan Welch (5:13.56) were close behind.
Emma Lehman grabbed an eighth-place finish in the pole vault when she cleared 8-6.25.
In the throwing events, Zaryn Rumfelt placed 10th in both the shot put (42-8) and the discus (123-7). Brock Lengacher was 10th as well in the hammer (133-11), and Ethan Brown picked up eighth place in the javelin (135-2).

The Lancers will head to Taylor on April 1 for the George Glass Invitational.
