WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's track and field team split its squad at two events over the weekend. One group went to the Bill Clinger Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State. The remainder traveled to Taylor's Trojan Invitational.
The Lancers enjoyed several standout performances over the weekend, including several NAIA qualifiers.
GVSU BILL CLINGER CLASSIC
Grace hit five NAIA standards at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic, both of which occurred in the same event.
Tara Friesen made the NAIA "A" standard in the 800-meter race, grabbing fifth place with a time of 2:15.72. Anna Hulstedt hit the NAIA "B" standard in the same event with a race of 2:17.41.
Logan Rufenacht was another "A" qualifier; he was runner-up in the 800 with a time of 1:52.96, narrowly missing a school record.
Dimitri Margaritidis hit the NAIA "A" mark in the mile when he crossed the finish line in 4:09.03 (third place).
Kylie Sauder ran her mile in a time of 5:05.89, an NAIA "B" mark. Addison Grady was fourth in the open mile at 5:21.13, and Morgan Welch was four spots back at 5:26.71.
Esther Cameron won the 3,000 open run with a time of 10:33.52, and Brady Hunsberger won the open mile at 4:20.40. Hunsberger also ended 10th in the 800 (1:56.61).
Breanna Hyde placed sixth in the long jump (16-feet-8), and Mackenzie Parker finished third in the shot put (40-8.25).
Noah Zimmerman was runner-up in the long jump (21-8.25), Brandon Kleber was an eighth-place finisher in the 5,000 (15:14.26), and Justin Farris was seventh in the high jump (6-1.25).
Brock Lengacher represented well in the weight throw (48-6.25) and shot put (46-1.25), placing second and fifth respectively.

TROJAN INVITATIONAL
The Lancers wrapped up the weekend at nearby Taylor University, competing in the Trojan Invitational.
Grace Pettit finished fifth in the 3,000 at 11:12.73, and Ellie Wagoner was ninth at 11:51.65.
Lanae Crowe had a pair of strong finishes in the throwing events; she was fourth in the shot put (35-6) and sixth in the weight throw (43-5.75).
Grace had two top-20 finishers in the women's mile, including Cassandra Cross (5:43.97) and Caroline Kolb (5:54.22).
Freshman Elyse Genzink grabbed a 13th-place showing in the 400 (1:07.24).
In the men's throwing events, Connor Etchison led the team in the shot put. The freshman placed sixth with a throw of 40-8.75. Ethan Brown was also sixth in the weight throw (41-0.5).
Caleb Nichols grabbed eighth in the 400 (53.76) and 13th in the 200 (24.61).
In the men's 3,000, Hayden Mullett (9:29.17) and Jose Quinones (9:33.36).
