WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The 2024-25 season continued for Grace College's bowling team. The Lancers competed in three weekends during the month of October, showing steady improvement.
COLUMBIA WESTERN SHOOTOUT
Grace's second tournament of the season was the massive Columbia Western Shootout. In the two-day event, Grace's men finished 30th out of 31, while the women were 20th out of 23. The men totaled 5,453 pins (911 average), and the women had 4,924 pins (819 average).
Leading the men was Curtis Payne who produced a stellar 204 average. Nick Ransbottom also excelled with a 197 average across six games, and O'Neil (171) and Corbin Payne (175) had steady showings.
On the women's side, Addison Jackson placed 45th overall in the tournament with a six-game average of 186. Kit Sprunger was next in line with a 173 average, and Madison Coquillard also bowled six games with an average game of 162.

THE NELSON
The Lancers competed in Granville, Mich., at The Nelson on Oct. 19.
The men grabbed sixth place out of 11 teams, amassing 4,524 pins. The women were also sixth (out of nine) with a tournament total of 4,192 pins.
On the men's side, Corbin Payne finished in 26th with 538 pins, including a high-game of 207. Tom O'Neil was right behind him with 533 pins, including a first-game score of 208.
Michael Wright (497) and Alex Birong (450) bowled three games for Grace, and Joey Larison rolled a 196 in his second game.
On the women's side, the freshman duo of Madison Coquillard (490) and Kiley Penzien (476) led the way. Coquillard's highlight was a 188 in her second game.
Madison Anderson (460) and Kit Sprunger (440) bowled three games, and Addison Jackson produced a 195 in her opener to claim highest-scoring game honors for the team.

BOILERMAKER #1 / #2
Grace concluded the month of October with a two-day event at Purdue.
In the first Boilermaker tournament, Grace's men placed 12th out of 15 (869 average), and the women finished ninth out of nine (718).
Joey Larison enjoyed an impressive day with an average score of 198 during his three games.Â
Curtis Payne (183), Nick Ransbottom (175) and Tom O'Neil (156) bowled five games, and Michael Wright bowled a 183 over his two games.
Kiley Penzien paced the women's team; she posted an average score of 154 across her five games. Madison Coquillard (150) and Addison Jackson (149) were neck and neck, and Jadelynn Girouard (139) followed along in scoring.
In the second event, titled the Boilermaker Baker Shootout, Grace placed 11th out of 14 (men) and ninth out of nine (women).Â
During the baker competition, the women totaled 3,825 pins for an average of 765 per game. The men collected 4,367 pins (873 average).
