GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Grace's men's tennis team battled NCAA Div. II opponent Grand Valley State in Michigan.
GVSU pulled out the 5-2 victory, bolstered by winning the doubles' point to begin the match.
Grace was unable to win any of the three doubles' courts. Javier Gallego and Pablo Gregori came the closest with a 6-4 defeat at No. 1.
Gallego battled to an impressive win at the top singles' court, however. He won 6-2, 5-7, 10-5.
Salva Pons also registered a singles' victory, winning 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Lancers will return to Michigan on Feb. 23-24. Grace will take on Ferris State on Feb. 23, who is ranked No. 17 in the ITA rankings for NCAA Div. II.
