MARION, Ind. - Grace's track and field teams competed at Notre Dame and Indiana Wesleyan over the weekend.

The Lancers had six NAIA qualifiers across the two days as they continued the indoor season.

MEYO INVITATIONAL

Grace had two relays accepted in the Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame. The meet consisted primarily of NCAA Div. I schools along with Grace.

Grace's women's DMR team hit the NAIA "A" standard; Anna Hulstedt, Olivia Adkins, Tara Friesen and Kylie Sauder placed third in a time of 12:08.67. They beat relays from schools such as Saint Louis, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois.

The men's DMR hit an NAIA "B" standard. Brady Hunsberger, Ethan Cummins, Logan Rufenacht and Dimitri Margaritidis teamed up for a race of 10:10.08, finishing behind Purdue and Indiana State.

IWU MIDWEST CLASSIC

One day after the Meyo Invitational, the Lancers' squad competed again at the IWU Midwest Classic.

Grace had four more NAIA qualifiers during the all-day meet.

Kylie Sauder won the mile with an NAIA "A" time of 5:07.42. She was also runner-up in the 800 at 2:22.80.

Dimitri Margaritidis also hit an "A" standard in the 1,000, placing second with a race of 2:30.62.

Grace had a pair of NAIA "B" times in the women's 3,000; Madelyn Skidmore (10:21.26) and Esther Cameron (10:21.70) placed fifth and sixth respectively in the race.

Other strong finishers on the women's side include Mallory Hiatt in third (5,000m; 18:32.30), Tara Friesen in fourth (1,000m; 3:05.63), Emily McCreary in fourth (high jump; 5-foot-1), Breanna Hyde in fifth (long jump; 16-10.5), and Zoe Huley in eighth in two events (200m; 27.21 and 400m; 1:02.34).

On the men's side, Luis Loera was fourth in the mile (4:24.76) and 10th in the 800 (2:01.60). Brady Hunsberger was also ninth in the mile (4:27.92).

Brandon Kleber placed sixth in the 5,000 (15:19.50), Justin Farris was seventh in the high jump (5-11.5), and Brock Lengacher was 10th in the shot put (47-9.25).

The Lancers are back in action on Friday with the MU Swine Open, held at the newly repurposed Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis. It will be the site of the Crossroads League Championships the following week.
