CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Grace's men's tennis team continued its challenging spring slate with three ranked opponents.

The Lancers battled with Campbellsville (receiving votes), No. 21 Lindsey Wilson and No. 16 Union.

The week began with a 6-1 win over Campbellsville; the Tigers are receiving votes in the NAIA poll.

Grace was dominant in the matchup. Salva Pons and Manuel Marques won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Javier Gallego and Pablo Gregori also won at the top doubles' court, allowing the Lancers to take the doubles point.

During singles' competition, Grace won every court except for one.

Gallego registered a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles, and Gregori won in three sets at No. 2.

Pons (No. 3), Luis Cordoba (No. 4) and Marques (No. 6) also won in straight sets.

On Monday, Grace fell 6-1 at No. 21 Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders won every doubles' courts, including a narrow 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles against Gallego and Gregori.

Half of the singles' courts went to a third set. Gallego won one of those at No. 1 singles, coming back to win 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-8.

The Lancers were unable to win the remaining five singles' matches. The Blue Raiders won in three sets at No. 3 singles (against Pons) and No. 5 (against Cordoba).

On Tuesday, the Lancers found themselves in a major tussle with No. 16 Union. The two teams, separated by one spot in the NAIA poll, battled at nearly every spot. Union came away with the 5-2 win at the end of the day.

The Bulldogs got ahead early by winning No. 2 and 3 doubles. Grace did win at the top doubles' court thanks to Gregori and Pons.

Gallego registered a narrow win at No. 1 singles (6-4, 7-6), and Cordoba also pulled out a three-set win at No. 4 (5-7, 6-4, 6-4).

But Grace dropped two three-setters at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, allowing Union to secure the victory.

The Lancers will end the week with two more matches against Northwestern Ohio and Arizona Christian.
