WINONA LAKE, Ind. - For the upcoming season, Brian Dewey has accepted the interim role of Director of Cross Country and Track and Field.
Dewey will oversee both programs with the support of his assistant coaching staff for the 2024-25 season.
"It will be a blessing this year to be able to lead such a fantastic group of student-athletes," Dewey said. "They have excelled on the track and demonstrated Kingdom-like character all along the way. The coaching staff we are putting in place this year will continue to challenge our athletes to compete confidently at the national level and to worship deeply at a personal level."
Dewey led Grace's distance efforts during the spring 2024 season. The Lancers nabbed four NAIA All-American honors during the outdoor national championships, and they had four more during the NAIA Indoor Championships.Â
Additionally, Grace's women won the NCCAA outdoor track and field national championship in May.
"Brian will do a tremendous job overseeing both programs for the upcoming year. We appreciate him serving in this dual role for the year. The staff he is putting together will continue to assist in building the program as we compete at a high level in the NAIA and NCCAA," said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. "I appreciate Brian's passion and desire for the sport to be used to impact lives for Christ through their experience. We look forward to the continued growth of the track and field program under his leadership and will continue our search for our next head track and field coach."
Grace's cross country and distance programs have been ranked consistently high at the national level. The women's program was ranked No. 9 for the NAIA Program of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The men ranked No. 19 for the NAIA Program of the Year.
