WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team continued its dominance in conference play to begin the 2024 campaign. The Lancers extended their regular season conference unbeaten streak to 17-straight matches with a 6-1 victory over Bethel on Tuesday afternoon in the season opener.
Grace started off the match strong by sweeping the doubles matches to take the early lead. The point was secured with a 6-2 and 6-1 performance at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by

Benjamin Rahine. The top pairing of
Pablo Gregori/
Salva Pons had to grind through to finish off doubles' play with a 7-6 (5) triumph.
The Lancers racked up the next four points to clinch the match with No. 1 and No. 5 singles still in progress.
Salva Pons and
Benjamin Rahine each won 6-2, 6-3 to put the home team one point away from victory. The clinching point came from
Luis Cordoba when he completed a 6-2, 6-2 scoreline at No. 3 singles to seal the victory.
Pablo Gregori nearly made it a clean sweep, but dropped his match by a narrow margin in a tiebreaker 6-1, 3-6, 5-7.
Manuel Marques closed out the match with a tiebreaker of his own, coming out on top 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-4.
The Lancers will hit the road to face St. Francis on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m., before returning home on Saturday.
