Grace Bowlers kick off 2025-26 campaign

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - The Grace College bowling team began its 2025-26 season in earnest with two straight weekends of tournaments in October.

MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIPS

Grace's bowling teams began their season at the 54th annual Brunswick Midwest Collegiate Championships.

The women's team earned a 33rd-place showing out of 42 teams. They bowled down 6,425 total pins, including 2,547 in baker play and 3,878 in team games.

Kylee Estes impressed in her collegiate debut. She racked up 170.5 pins per game across four games, finishing as the team's top bowler by average.

Madison Coquillard (162.5 pins) also had a strong showing, and Kiley Penzien amassed 161.4 pins while playing all five games.

The men placed 46th out of 51 teams, topping two Crossroads League opponents in the process. The men collected 6,957 pins, including 4,317 in team games and 2,640 in baker play.

Matthew Pomian was the team's top bowler, knocking down 194.4 pins per game across his five games.

Nick Ransbottom was not far behind at 190.2 pins per game. Logan Pitts (178.4) and Corbin Payne (164.4) also bowled all five games.

COLUMBIA WESTERN SHOOTOUT

The second tournament of the year was the Columbia 300 Western Shootout in Indianapolis.

The men's team placed 20th out of 29 teams, amassing 8,982 pins as a unit. The women were 23rd out of 28 teams (7,441 pins).

Logan Pitts was the men's top bowler. He earned a 40th-place showing in the field, striking 1,253 pins (208.3 average).

Michael Wright was next in line for the men with an average of 193, and he was followed by Nick Ransbottom (903 pins, 180.6 average), Corbin Payne (727 pins, 181.8 average), Taiyden Kosinski (576, 192 average), Zachary Camp (543, 181 average), Alex Birong (394, 197 average) and Pomian (146).

On the women's side, Grace had two bowlers place in the top 65. Kit Sprunger led the way with a 39th-place effort. She struck 1,080 pins for an average of 180 across her six games.

Kiley Penzien grabbed 63rd place overall with 1,016 pins for an average of 169.3 per game.

Kylee Estes was next in line for the women (658 pins, 164.5 average), followed by Olivia Seeburger (637, 159.25 average), Madison Coquillard (588, 147 average), Baylie Goodlink (582, 145.5), Madison Anderson (148) and Addison Jackson (147).

The Lancers are next in competition with the AC Open and the Halo Classic in Michigan on Nov. 8-9.
