WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team dropped a match on Saturday against Ferris State.
The Lancers took on NCAA Div. II Ferris State but ultimately came up short 6-1 at the Don Cramer Tennis Courts.
Grace's lone point came at No. 6 singles. Shannon Brumbaugh produced a two-set win over her opponent.
The Lancers put up strong fights in singles' play, most notably Faith Valentine at No. 2 (3-6, 5-7). Landry Schrock (4-6, 3-6) at No. 3 and Lauren Harris (3-6, 4-6) at No. 4 had similar scorelines. Jimena Ramirez lost 3-6, 3-6 at No. 1.
The Lancers also earned a win in doubles' play, taking the top doubles' court 7-5 thanks to Ramirez and Valentine. But the Bulldogs won the second and third doubles' court to earn the doubles' point.
The Lancers have one match remaining in the fall, taking on Grand Valley State in Michigan on Friday.
