ALLENDALE, Mich. - Grace ended its men's tennis fall season on the road against a stiff opponent.
The Lancers lost 7-0 to Grand Valley State, falling to the No. 11 team in NCAA Div. II last year.
Grace put up a strong battle in doubles. Benjamin Rahine and Mahefa Rakotomalala nearly pulled off the win at the top doubles' court before narrowly losing 7-6 (7-1).
Manuel Marques and Stergios Papadopoulos also nearly won at No. 2 doubles (6-4).
Papadopoulos had the closest match in singles' competition. He forced a third set at No. 3 before falling 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
The spring season for Grace is scheduled to begin in March. The spring will also include the Crossroads League regular season, a new change for the conference.
