SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Grace's track and field program sent a small cadre of athletes to a pair of meets on Friday.
The Lancers' contingent competed at Notre Dame's Blue and Gold Invitational as well as Grand Valley State's Holiday Open
At Notre Dame Michael Muiruri earned third place in the triple jump, clearing 13.64 meters on his third attempt.
Grace had three runners in the women's 60 dash, led by Kila Foster (8.09 seconds). Luke Mansfield (7.45) and Muiruri (7.46) led the men's 60 dash efforts.
Logan Clark ran the 400 (52.90) for the men, and Foster ran the women's 200 (26.73).
A portion of the Lancers' distance crew competed at GVSU. Five ladies ran in the 5,000, each finishing within a 42-second range.
Cece Mitchell was Grace's top runner at 18:03.15. Grace Geller (18:20.76) and Addi Dewey (18:20.81) finished simultaneously, and Cassandra Cross (18:41.19) and Grace Pettit (18:45.18) also kept a close group.
For the men, Brady Hunsberger ran a 15:25.52 during the 5,000, and Austin Wilson ran a 15:38.36. John Young (16:27.53) and Ty McPhatter (16:51.97) also raced the men's 5,000.
The Lancers will continue their indoor season after the Christmas break. Grace's next scheduled meet is Purdue Fort Wayne's Mastodon Invite on Jan. 17.
