Scott named Crossroads League Player of the Year

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's men's basketball team earned several marquee awards in the postseason Crossroads League honors.

Ian Scott headlined the awards when he was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year. He also picked up recognition on the league's All-Defensive Team.

Additionally, Ian Raasch joined Scott as a First Team All-League performer. Gage Sefton was a Second Team All-League honoree, and Hunter Walston was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Grace just completed a clean sweep of the conference trophies. Grace won its third straight regular season championship and fourth straight postseason tournament title.

Scott became the league's premier player in his first season as a full-time starter. He posted mind-boggling averages of 18.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 65 percent from the floor.

In the Crossroads League, Scott ranked No. 2 in rebounds, No. 3 in assists, blocks and field goal percentage, as well as No. 7 in scoring and steals. He follows Elijah Malone in 2023-24, representing the Lancers as the league's back-to-back Players of the Year.

Raasch enjoyed a breakout campaign as a sophomore. The wing piled up 15.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and nearly two assists.

Raasch scored in double figures in 27 of Grace's 31 games. He shot 63 percent from the floor and 33 percent on 3-pointers.

Sefton also produced strong numbers in his sophomore campaign. He scored 13.0 points with 4.9 rebounds per game while making 61 percent of his field goals.

Walston was a key contributor as a rookie, earning a spot on the league's five-player All-Freshman Team. He finished sixth on the team in scoring and assists to go along with fourth in rebounds and assists. He shot 51 percent overall and 33 percent on triples.

The Lancers (26-5) have only lost twice this calendar year. The NAIA will announce the 2025 national tournament bracket and field on Thursday night (8 p.m.), where Grace will learn who the team will play next.

Grace will host NAIA First and Second Round games next week on March 14-15. The winner of the four-team Winona Lake pod will advance to the NAIA's final site in Kansas City.
