CANTON, Ohio. - Grace College's women's golf team closed out the 36-hole Cav Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lancers were the lone NAIA team competing in the event which featured eight Division II schools. The Lancers shot a two round score of 666 to claim a sixth place finish in the field.
The Lancers were led by
Camille Short who finished in fourth place at plus 11. Short shot a 79 during Monday's opening round and improved by three strokes over the final 18 to finish the tournament with a mark of 155. She was just two-strokes off of second place.
Trinity Bramer opened the tournament with the fourth lowest mark in round one and finished the tournament with a total of 166.
Sydney Cesare shot 84-89 to lead the Lancers "B" squad with a 36th place finish.
Grace May and
Grace Beerman finished just behind Cesare with marks of 174 and 176.
Brette Hanavan improved by five strokes on day two and laid claim to a top 40 finish.
Kiley Standring shot a 36-hole total of 186 and
Raigan King and Regan Clifton closed out the scoring with marks of 196 and 200.
The Lancers will be back in action on Monday as they take part in the Sagamore Shootout.
