Crossroads League honors four Lancers

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Following a groundbreaking season for Grace's baseball team, several Lancers were recognized in the postseason Crossroads League awards.

Ryan Stark was a First Team All-League honoree. Josh Cosme and Maximo de Leon both earned Second Team recognition, and Jose Ayala was the left field representative on the Gold Glove Team.

Stark enjoyed a record-setting season, batting .355 with 54 hits in 47 games. His 16 home runs led the Crossroads League, and he added 12 doubles, 44 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He finished the year with a staggering .763 slugging percentage.

Stark's 29 extra-base hits led the league and his slugging percentage ranked tops among league starters. He finishes his career with 21 home runs to go along with 99 hits, 19 doubles and 68 RBIs. He set the program record for most homers and most RBIs in a single season during the spring campaign.

Cosme hit .296 for the Lancers. He tallied 34 hits, 9 doubles, 1 triple and 3 homers, driving in 30 runs in 42 games. Defensively, he boasted a .979 fielding percentage while handling his catching responsibilities.

De Leon closed out his sterling career as a Second Team honoree. He led Grace with 58 hits, 48 runs and 18 stolen bases. For the year, he tallied a .312 batting average with 35 RBIs and 19 extra-base hits. 

For De Leon's career, he finishes No. 8 in team history in batting average (.331), No. 2 in hits (181), No. 1 in runs (153), No. 14 in RBIs (87), No. 2 in doubles (38), No. 7 in triples (7), No. 1 in stolen bases (72) and No. 9 in walks.

Ayala earned a place on the nine-player Gold Glove Team. He was perfect in the outfield for Grace in 67 chances. Additionally, he provided a .327 batting average with 54 hits, 42 runs and 42 RBIs. His 19 doubles this year led the Crossroads League and set a team record.

The Lancers reached new heights as a team in 2025. They set program records for most overall wins in a season (23) and most Crossroads League wins in a season (14) under head coach Ryan Roth.
