Ackerman to step down as coach for Grace Women’s Tennis

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Emily Ackerman has decided to step down as the head coach for Grace's women's tennis program.

Ackerman, one of the most decorated players in team history, completed her third year leading the Lancers.

She guided Grace to a 34-23 record during her tenure, including two straight 13-win seasons.

Ackerman accepted a full-time coaching position at an NCAA Div. II institution in Michigan to continue her coaching journey.

"For the last eight years, from player to coach, the Lord has drawn close and shaped me in many big ways. Winona Lake will always hold a special place in the heart of our family," Ackerman said. "It was an honor to serve and have an impact on the lives of our student-athletes."

Grace College will begin a national search immediately for its next women's tennis coach. To inquire about the position, contact Grace's Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe.

"We appreciate all that Emily and Hunter have done for the women's tennis program at Grace," Briscoe said. "It's bittersweet to see them go, but we are excited for their new ministry opportunity. We wish them all the best in the next chapter, and we're thankful for their impact at Grace."
