Felger named CL Player of the Year, Voss takes Coach of the Year

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Following a dominant run through the Crossroads League, Grace's women's soccer team was showered with awards in the postseason recognition.

Cassidy Felger was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year, Michael Voss was named the league's Coach of the Year, and Elaina Clapp was the Newcomer of the Year.

Overall, seven Lancer student-athletes received All-League recognition.

Nora Pollock, Rosalie Gefrorer and Jaylin Young joined Felger and Clapp as First Team All-League selections. Additionally, Abby Hodkin and Audrey Abel were honorable mention for All-League.

Felger earns the fourth All-League honor of her career along with her first Player of the Year award from the CL. The sensational senior controlled the midfield while adding five goals and seven assists.

Clapp has given up just two goals in nine career starts, eight of which came against CL opponents. She has a part in seven of Grace's 10 shutouts this year.

Pollock has amassed seven goals and eight assists to power Grace's offense. She has been electric against league opponents, providing a goal or an assist in seven of the Lancers' nine matches.

Gefrorer is tied for the team lead with seven goals. The now three-time All-League midfielder has played the fourth-most minutes on the team with nearly 1,300 on the season.

Young has been an anchor on Grace's defensive line. She leads the team in minutes played (1,514) and has played all but 16 minutes of the season so far. Grace's defense has recorded 10 shutouts and has posted an average goals against of 0.47 goals per game, sixth-lowest in the NAIA.

Hodkin has a team-high nine assists as a dynamic playmaker. She is tied for second on the team with 17 points.

Abel has been a mainstay in Grace's midfield since her arrival. She has three goals and three assists to date and ranks second on the team in minutes with 1,434.

The Voss-led Lancers have enjoyed arguably their finest season in program history. Grace, currently ranked No. 2 in the NAIA, has a 13-1-3 record.

The Lancers won the Crossroads League regular season championship, outscoring league opponents 30-3 during the process.

Overall, Grace has outscored its opponents 44-8, despite playing one of the hardest schedules in the country.

The Lancers are the No. 1 seed in the CL Tournament, which begins this week. Tonight, Grace will host Mt. Vernon Nazarene in the quarterfinals on 7 p.m. With a win, Grace would host the semifinals on Friday night (7 p.m.) and the championship on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
