WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Grace's men's tennis team took on a pair of highly ranked opponents during its Spring Break trip to Kentucky.

Grace fell 6-1 to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday. On Wednesday, when a new NAIA poll was released, Grace found itself again playing the No. 5-ranked team. This time, Cumberlands occupied the No. 5 poll in the updated edition.

The Lancers nearly took down the high ranked Cumberlands squad, barely losing the match by the score of 4-3.

Lindsey Wilson was a fierce opponent on Tuesday as Grace lost 6-1. Aurelien Coan and Stergios Papadopoulos were the tightest match in doubles' play at 6-4.

Mahefa Rakotomalala gave his opponent at No. 4 singles a battle, losing 7-5, 7-5 in extra sets.

Against Cumberlands, Grace stunned the hosts by winning the doubles' point. Benjamin Rahine and Rakotomalala won 6-3 at the top doubles' court. Andreas Polichronopoulos and Manuel Marques won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles to secure the initial point of the match.

Polichronopoulos went on to defeat his opponent at No. 1 singles by the score of 6-3, 6-4. Rahine also was victorious at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-3).

But the Patriots clinched the match by winning at the remaining four singles' courts to rally for the victory.

The Lancers will play at home on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Judson.
