MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Crossroads League season began swimmingly for Grace's women's tennis team on Saturday.
The Lancers blanked Mt. Vernon Nazarene 7-0 on the road.
Grace began the day with a strong showing in doubles' play. Jimena Ramirez and Faith Valentine won 6-1 at the top doubles' court, and Addison Swope and Lauren Harris won 6-2 at No. 3.
Shannon Brumbaugh and Landry Schrock were flawless at No. 2 doubles (6-0).
Grace won every singles' match in straight sets. Ramirez (No. 1), Valentine (No. 2) and Schrock (No. 4) posted perfect 6-0, 6-0 shorelines.
Brumbaugh coasted 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, Harris earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5, and Makynna Oconitrillo also won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
The league play continues next week for Grace. The Lancers are at Taylor on Tuesday and at home on Saturday versus Indiana Wesleyan.
