WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team battled tough with No. 21 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at the Don Cramer Tennis Courts, falling 5-2.
The teams were level after the first two doubles courts finished play. The Wildcats won No. 3 doubles, while the Lancers collected No. 2 doubles.
Jimena Ramirez and
Faith Valentine partnered together, winning 6-2 on court one. The decider went to IWU 7-5, giving the Wildcats the early advantage.
Grace evened the score at the start of singles play when Ramirez knocked off her opponent 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 slot.Â
IWU, however, responded by picking up the next four points on courts 2-5 to secure the victory.Â
Lauren Harris closed out the day with Grace's second point of the match, winning 6-2, 6-4 on court six.Â
The Lancers will continue conference play on the road at Huntington on Monday March 28.
